How we keep these numbers accurate

The list features 50 videos from 50 channels with 292.5M views in total; the average length is 20:37.

Every view, like and comment count on YouthVid comes directly from YouTube's official Data API; we never estimate or make up numbers. Figures are shortened for readability (for example 33M), and the exact count is always one click away on YouTube.

Once a day we take a snapshot of every video we track. The difference between two snapshots shows how many views a video really gained, so the ranking reflects what is growing right now, not only what is already big. Videos that are deleted or made private disappear with the next update, and no statistic is kept for more than 30 days.

How this list works

Videos are ranked by the views they gained in the last 24 hours, so a video published a few days ago can still reach the top. Videos younger than a day are marked “New”; older ones show how many days ago they were published.

Sports, news, live streams, premieres, videos longer than 3 hours, ads and videos with suspiciously low engagement for their view count are left out.

Why are there no sports, news or live streams?

Match highlights, breaking news and live streams can take over a list in a single day. Leaving them out, together with ads and videos with boosted views, keeps the list focused on what people actually choose to watch.

How often is the list updated?

Every day, with fresh view, like and comment counts from YouTube.
